Minutes - 9/28/10

BONA
Minutes
September 28, 2010

1. Neighbors introduced themselves.

2. Byron Oaks Pond.
a. Reviewed the pond insurance and dues required for that. New policy for pond insurance from State Farm.
b. Discussion around the pond and access to the pond. Smits and Bill and ? said they provide access to the pond for the kids.
c. There are three delinquent pond insurance payers. Unpaid are the Thortons, and Donna and Rolando are unpaid.
d. Questions arose about how much and how often we pay.
e. There are tree limbs hanging on and around the pond that almost blew down. Dangerous for the kids.

3. Other agenda items

a. Street parking. When you park on the street, try not to park in front of the mailboxes. Sometimes lawn care parks in front of the mail boxes. Mail carrier can’t get through.
b. No soliciting sign in front of the sub. Suggestion was made. No action taken
c.Water meters. Two meters instead of one. One for sewer and one for water. Mark Lenger is saving about $150-200 a season. $650 to put a meter in. There is saving if you water you lawn. If you go to the township and give them your address, they’ll tell you your water use and how much you’d save by putting in a summer meter. The Helder’s saved over $200 in the first quarter. Tim Buist or Mark Lenger would be glad to talk to anyone if they are interested.
d. What’s going on at the greenhouse? Another greenhouse is going in where Holwerda’s was. We hear it’s Mast and they won’t have a retail store.
e.
Byron Township putting in sidewalks. They are going in from Railside to76th and from 84th to 87th. They are trying to get all the property owners to say yes. Supposedly the ones that are going in are part of grants. Talk to Joel Hondorp at the Twp office about putting them in.
f. Firepit is free for all to use
g.
House just north of our development has four individuals in it all who have records. They are renting the house. They have a habit of not staying anywhere for a long people of time. They are bad dudes. Bill and Betty’s house had some destruction done to the landscaping in front of their house and at Sherwin’s. Mipsor is the public website where you can find pubic offenders and where they are living.
h. Can we do anything to get rid of the red house across the street? It’s been empty for quite some time?
